Sunday 2nd December, 2.30-5pm
Newcastle City Library

Gingerbread House Challenge -  THE EVENT


32 teams have booked their plot on Gingerbread Street.
They are planning, experimenting, building and decorating their Gingerbread House...
On Sunday 2nd December they will bring their Gingerbread Houses 
to the Newcastle City Library to create Gingerbread Street

Come & see what a street of Gingerbread Houses looks like, smells like and tastes like.

 Plus: Gingerbread man decorating, guess the weight of the cake, guess birthday of the cuddly toy, facepainter, cardseller & raffle
Our Judge: BBC Weather presenter Hannah Bayman

  • Gingerbread Houses will take their place on Gingerbread Street between 2.30-3.15pm
  • Judging: 3.45pm
  • Winners announced: 4pm
  • Followed by Raffle, Competition winners & Gingerbread House eating...



Raffle Prizes:  Fenwick Hamper, Starbucks Hamper, Hamper, The Stand (Comedy) Tickets, Family Skating at Centre for Life, Cinema Tickets (Tyneside Cinema), Afternoon Tea for Two (Made Cafe, Whitley Bay), Phoenix Trading Gift, Instablock (A.Musing), Star Wars Clock, Signed NUFC Print, Signed Steven Gerrard Print, Signed Paul Hollywood Note & Photo, Letter Opener, Lindisfarne Mead, Martini Bianco, Bells Whisky, Prosecco, Red Wine & probably more on the day...

Newcastle's FIRST Gingerbread House Challenge

How will you decorate yours?
Help us build a street of Gingerbread Houses.

We want you & your friends/family/colleagues to build a Gingerbread House for Gingerbread Street (located at Newcastle City Library Bewick Hall for one-afternoon only)



Our Judge: BBC Weather presenter Hannah Bayman
Take part in the competition...
  • Reserve your plot on Gingerbread Street
  • Build & decorate your Gingerbread House at home (kits allowed)
  • Bring your completed house to take its place on Gingerbread Street 
 Sunday 2nd December, Newcastle City Library, 2.30-5pm

    The Gingerbread House Competition will be judged by Hannah Bayman (BBC Look North weather presenter) & presenting a prize to the best looking house on the street!

    Come & see..
    We'd love you to come along and have a look at the street, plus we've got some stalls, games, activities and a RAFFLE for all the family!



    The Gingerbread House Challenge is a fundraising event for The Sick Children's Trust.  All profits from the event will be donated to this charity.
